It’s been a while since we last connected—almost two years, in fact. We know we haven’t been as active as we should have, and we’re truly sorry for the silence. But today, we’re excited to finally share the reason behind our long absence: a major update that marks a new chapter for inTinker and sets us on a renewed path we’re fully committed to moving forward with.
During this time, with a fresh perspective, we made the decision to go all-in on building a scalable, future-ready platform. Rather than small, incremental updates, we poured everything into creating a robust AI sandbox—a foundation that allows us to develop, test, and deliver cutting-edge 3D printing solutions. This is more than just a refresh. It’s a transformation designed to grow, adapt, and innovate alongside the 3D printing industry. We want to assure you that from now on, regular updates and ongoing development will be central to inTinker’s vision and roadmap.
What’s New in This Update?
Fresh Design & Enhanced User Interface
We wanted the new inTinker experience to feel as advanced as the technology behind it. That’s why we’ve completely overhauled the website design and revamped the applications UI to be more intuitive and polished. The new layout not only reflects our commitment to professionalism but also makes it easier for you to navigate features, find resources, and engage with the application. This update provides a visually refined, user-friendly experience that truly supports you in your 3D printing experience.
Pricing
We’re keeping our familiar pricing plans but with an exciting addition: a lifetime plan. This one-time payment option gives you access to inTinker for life, including all future updates. As a bonus, lifetime members will be grandfathered into our highest-tier plan forever, granting exclusive access to all beta features and priority support. It's our way of saying thank you for investing in inTinker’s future.
All-in-One Calibration System
Our original calibration system was basic, and we’ll admit—it didn’t always hit the mark. After extensive R&D, we’ve rebuilt it from the ground up. Now, the calibration tool tunes multiple metrics simultaneously, including stringing, surface quality, small features, bridging, and overhangs. It adjusts key settings like temperature, retraction distance and speed, flow rate, and cooling fan settings all at once, providing a comprehensive, precise calibration that’s never been easier to use.
Version-Controlled Print Profiles
One of our most exciting non-AI features is the introduction of Print Profiles. Imagine it as version control for your 3D printing settings—if you’re familiar with GIT, you’ll feel right at home here. We start with the 3mf file you provide, and each time you apply a calibration module, we save the current state of your 3mf file. This allows you to redownload previous versions, track changes over time, and view your settings history in a timeline format. Print Profiles give you full control and a clear record of every adjustment made.
Expanded Documentation
We know documentation isn’t the most exciting part of any product, but it’s essential for helping you get the most out of inTinker. We’ve significantly expanded our docs to provide clear, in-depth explanations of each feature and step-by-step guides for making the most of your inTinker experience. Whether you’re new to 3D printing or an experienced user, our documentation will make it easier to understand what’s happening behind the scenes.
A Whole New Codebase
Our first version of inTinker was a learning experience, built quickly to test our calibration ideas. But we learned so much that we decided to completely rewrite the platform from scratch with a new architecture, language, and database design. This new codebase allows inTinker to function as a true AI 3D printing sandbox, enabling us to develop and deploy models, explore new features, and respond to your feedback faster than ever before. For you, this means quicker releases, more stability, and an exciting future full of possibilities.
Looking to the Future
Not gonna lie, the future looked uncertain for a while. But with this restructuring, both in our code and our business approach, we’re feeling more optimistic than ever. We have a lot of new research in the works and some truly exciting projects planned for the coming year and beyond.
One of the developments we’re most excited about is vision scoring. Soon, you’ll be able to scan a QR code on your screen with your phone, opening an inTinker interface that lets you snap photos of your part. The AI will then analyze and score the print quality, feeding that data directly into the optimization engine. This is just the beginning—we’re also planning to add more calibration modules for things like first layer tuning, pressure advance, and fine-tuning flow rate. Plus, expect new slicing options, including support for Orca Slicer and Cura.
Why the Wait?
We know it’s been a while since our last update, and we appreciate your patience. Our decision to focus on this major overhaul meant pausing on new features while we laid the groundwork for something bigger and better. By investing in a stronger foundation, we’re now able to build, test, and roll out updates much faster. This update marks the beginning of a more dynamic and responsive inTinker, one that’s designed to grow alongside your needs and the rapidly evolving world of 3D printing.
Migration for Current Users
As we launch this new platform, we want to make the transition as smooth as possible for our current users. The original inTinker software will remain accessible for one year, allowing those with active subscriptions to continue using the service. However, please note:
- Subscription Changes: All current subscriptions will be set to cancel at the end of their billing period, and the old platform will be fully retired after one year.
- Accessing the Old Platform: You can still access the old platform via a link in the footer of our new homepage, but new sign-ups and plan purchases are no longer available there.
